MISSA is a choral concert in the form of a mass setting. It draws on the sacred polyphony of Renaissance composers and builds to a prayerful calm in the penultimate piece, a twentieth-century homophonic setting of the Lord's Prayer ("Pater Noster") by Latvian composer Peteris Vasks. Much like a traditional mass, the concert concludes with a call for peace, through Byrd's four-part "Agnus Dei".
